1908 - Vimto creator John Noel Nichols first mixes together his secret blend of fruits, herbs and spices at his shop in Manchester.

1919 - Vimto's first export sales are sent to Guayana.

1921 - Vimto carbonated drink is introduced in addition to Vimto cordial.

1924 - Vimto is registered as a trademark in India.

1929 - The business is incorporated and renamed to J.N.Nichols & Company Ltd.

1961 - J.N.Nichols (Vimto) Ltd is listed on the Manchester stock exchange.

1964 - Vimto is first produced in cans.

1986 - The company acquiress Cabana Soft Drinks a Preston based dispense drinks business.

2000 - The corporate name is changed to Nichols plc.

2004 - Nichols is transferred to AIM (Alternative Investment Market).

2005 - Nichols acquires Beacon Drinks a south coast based dispense drinks business.

2006 - Nichols acquires Cariel a Scottish based dispense drinks business.

2008 - Vimto celebrates its 100th birthday.

2008 - Nichols acquires a 50% holding in Dayla Liquid Packing Ltd a soft drinks packaging specialist.
