Christine Shillington

People & Sustainability Director

Family first, passionate about doing the right things in life, being outdoors is as essential as breathing.

I joined Nichols at the end of April 2018, and in that time the business has continued to develop and grow. The external context for our industry and the broader global issues facing everyone are shaping our agenda in the right way. Our people continue to be at the heart of our sustained success, and as we continue to face new challenges and pursue different opportunities, this has never been more important. Supporting our people and their wellbeing during Covid pandemic has been our number one priority over the past year. There is lots of potential in our business, and it’s exciting to be part of the journey

My vision for Nichols’s future

I am excited by how we can bring together our people and ESG agendas to really fulfil our purpose and make a difference to our multiple stakeholders – our employees, our consumers, our customers, our partners and our shareholders.

What has been your experience working as part of Nichols?

The warm welcome and authentic values really stand out - that we deliver and have fun doing it. Our culture is a differentiator. I want to encourage everyone who is interested in joining the Vimto team to know that we will value you and the diversity you can bring to help us continue to build our successful business and your own personal success.

Nichols beverage of choice

Vimto Winter Warmer every day!

Life before Nichols:

I’ve spent over 20 years in FMCG global businesses. I grew up in Unilever, worked there for 14 years in a variety of HR roles, largely within the R&D/SC functions. I then moved to PZ Cussons, as HR Director for Global Functions.

First-ever job:

I worked in an aquatic garden centre, advising customers on outdoor ponds, fish and planting. I learnt a lot and I loved helping customers bring their garden visions to life!
