What attracted you to Vimto?

I’ve been a huge fan of Vimto since being young so firstly that attracted me. When I saw my job advertised it really did stand out; not only does it have a cool brand but it’s growing and I could see the potential.

When going through the recruitment process it was clear what the culture of the business was like and to me that’s the most important thing (I can’t lie the offices really did impress though). It represents the cool; quirky culture we have. It was also clear that people are the most important thing, again being in recruitment I believe that people make businesses successful.

When I was offered the job there was no hesitation – it was a yes from me straight away!

What do you love about working here?

Honestly, it was the team! I met a lot of people I would be working with over the 2 stage process. So on my first day it was like I already knew everyone. No scary first day nerves!!

I love Vimto, I love the way it’s run, I love the direction it’s going and we’re expanding. It’s so exciting to acquire new business and grow the Vimto family more.

My role is so varied; I have a lot of responsibility which really motivates me. It’s so easy to do my job when I’ve so much faith in the brand and the business.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

I would say I’m quite sporty, I play tennis a fair bit but recently started playing rugby. Yes, I’m a novice but you have to start somewhere. I live in Manchester so I have great restaurants and bars on my door step, so after a busy day there is nothing better than going out for food and someone else doing the cooking and washing up.

I would like to say I can cook however that’s where my skills are lacking. I try but it occasionally ends with a phone call to the nearest takeaway shop.

What attracted you to Vimto?

I have always been a massive fan of Vimto and been drinking it since I can ever remember, so when the opportunity came up to work for Vimto it was a dream come true. It’s a fast-paced, fun and enjoyable place to work. Everyone is friendly and the sense of it being a family run business remains.

What do you love about working here?

I’m lucky to work with some great people as part of the Marketing team. I get to bring everyone’s ideas to life and inject creativity across all areas of the business and our different site locations. There’s never a dull moment and always lots going on.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

When I’m not designing you’ll find me tinkering around the house and garden looking for the next DIY project. I love to hang out with my friends and my very large family. When I’m not with them I can usually be found in the gym or on the lookout for my next pair of trainers as I am abit of a sneaker freaker.

What attracted you to Vimto?

Choosing where to work and develop your career is a pretty big call, you spend more of your life at work than you do at home so making the right decision is a big deal. I grew up in the North West so Vimto was a brand I knew well. I guess my attraction and affinity for the brand grew with me, no doubt thanks to the iconic Purple Ronnie and Dads Pants ad campaigns that anyone old enough to remember the 1990’s will recall – along with Britpop, remember Oasis vs Blur? Nintendo Gameboys and Nokia 3210 phones.

What do you love about working here?

Having worked in a wide variety of FMCG food and drink roles I’ve gained plenty of experience of workplace cultures that I’ve really enjoyed and know will energise me along with some, unfortunately not in the minority, that act as an energy drain. Before I joined Vimto I was invited to attend the annual Vimto Summer conference and as I watched the Senior Management team wholeheartedly take part in a version of Bruce Forsyth’s Generation Game I knew that Vimto was a brand and business where the people, processes and personality embedded in the culture are the same on the inside as those extolled on the outside – two years later I can now testify that anywhere where you can have that much fun at work is worth working for.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

Life outside of work and especially at the weekends is an endless array of parties, spontaneous road trips and chilling out in front of the tele - unfortunately with two small children this tends to revolve around maddening soft play centres, endless trips to the farm and binge watching all seven seasons of Peppa Pig. I used to live by the words of the great Bill Shankly, that football is much much more important than life or death and despite having to follow my beloved Liverpool FC on a 5” mobile phone screen while navigating myself across a pirate themed inflatable adventure playground I am now happily able to combine my two passions in life, family and football – in that order!

What attracted you to Vimto?

I was only 9 months into a new role when I was made aware of the opportunity at Vimto so naturally, I wasn’t actively looking for a new position then. However, having grown up with Vimto, it’s a brand and drink I’ve always been familiar with and loved, and I was drawn to the fun and vibrancy of its various marketing campaigns and the product. This alone was enough to convince me to apply and attend the first round interview. After meeting with my future boss and HR executive, I was completely sold. The character, diversity, fresh and unique nature of working at Vimto really shone through both Robert and Jane, and the questions and information presented during the interview. I left the interview with a huge desire to be offered the role with Vimto, and this desire was amplified during my subsequent interviews with the Commercial Director of International and the Group FD. To summarise, it was the passion, interest, enthusiasm and deep knowledge of everybody I met, about Vimto, the role and the markets that I would manage, that assured me that both Nichols and the position were right for me.

What do you love about working here?

I love working at Vimto and feel lucky to have this role for numerous reasons! Whether it’s the little perks like gifts and a big fuss for personal celebrations, days and nights out, sitting on the ‘Dragons Den’ panel for the Warrington Youth Club’s annual internal competition, or use of the company holiday homes; working at Vimto is more than just a job and the company really go out of their way to ensure that you’re looked after personally as well as professionally. Then, when I think about working at Vimto on a professional level, this provides another host of reasons to love working here. The job is extremely engaging and interesting and I am constantly stimulated and challenged by the role and the diversity it offers on a daily basis. From a range of different daily responsibilities of working with our local licensees in market in Africa, tasting Mozambican Vimto with Technical to ensure it meets our high quality standards, or meeting with the different departments at Vimto to discuss the latest new product development, the level of passion, commitment and understanding is clear to see with everyone and contributes to the variety, development and engagement I feel when performing my role and contributing to delivering the key business targets. Finally, it may sound a bit clichéd but there is a real work / life balance ethic at Vimto and whilst working hard is obviously a given, there is the understanding that this cannot happen without the ability to unwind and relax properly and that people’s personal lives and space are important.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

Luckily, I’m able to combine one my favourite hobbies with my work which is travel! I love visiting new places, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures and by travelling to different African countries with Vimto, I certainly get a lot of opportunities to do these! When I’m not travelling and helping to satisfy the African thirst for Vimto, I play tennis, enjoy cooking and catching up with friends and family.

What attracted you to Vimto?

When I applied for my role at Vimto I had just come out of full time education. I saw the opportunity at Vimto as an apprentice within IT and thought it would be a great platform to kick start my career. It has been the best decision I have ever made. The lure of working for such a well-known brand/company also has its added bonuses such as the family feel and the challenges day to day work brings.

What do you love about working here?

My favourite part about my job is the team and colleagues I work with- We have a great understanding of each other and trust one another. It’s fantastic to work with people that care about their company and doing a good job. No two days are the same and all these factors help to keep it exciting.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

I see myself as quite a social person. In my spare time I like to stay busy in different ways. I enjoy playing and watching a lot of sports. I play for a football team on Saturdays and this is something I have done throughout my life. I also enjoy going out and spending time with friends and family as this keeps life balanced.
