Our partnership with Salford City FC
For young people everywhere, sport can be a means of staying healthy, learning valuable skills and developing natural talent. All it takes is the right guidance.
We’ve been working in partnership with Salford City FC since 2018, supporting the younger generation within the Greater Manchester area through the Club’s youth and development teams.
Salford City FC gives young talent the opportunity to develop and excel in their passion, whether it is through football or the dedicated program at Trafford College, which all development team players attend. At Trafford College the players receive training in subjects outside of football that will develop individual life skills that they can use for the rest of their careers.
As a partner, we’re incredibly proud of the youth team‘s developments in 2020, including three first team contracts being awarded to the Under-18s squad, after finishing top of the EFL Youth Alliance North West division in their debut season. In the current campaign, 14 players from the youth and development squads have made appearances for the first team, demonstrating the pathway and opportunity available to young players at Salford City.
We’re proud to continue to work with Salford City FC supporting the next generation of sportspeople to recognise their talent, hone their skills, and live their dreams.
A major pillar of the Class of ’92’s ethos when they first approached the Club was to set up an Academy and provide a pathway for young players in Salford to play first team football. The support we have received from our partnership with Vimto has helped us to make the first steps in achieving that, including providing the players with essential hydration at training and on matchdays. We are very grateful to Vimto for their support and look forward to continuing to work with them.
